Coolsat Receiver Instructions

Reboot Problem: Coolsat Troubleshooting

NOTE: Please Follow The Instructions Step-by-Step.

Instruction to Fix Rebooting Problem for Coolsat 4000/5000

1) Click DOWNLOAD on the bottom of the page.

2) Click Bin_5000_100 for Coolsat 5000 , (Bin_4000_100 for Coolsat 4000) to download Bin file.
3) Choose Save --> Desktop --> Save --> Close(When done).
4) Click STB_Tool to download software use for programing.
5) Same as step 3.
6) Connect receiver to computer using the programming cable(RS 232 straight-through).
7) Double click on STB_Tool, follow the prompt until the software opens.
8) Click Browse --> Desktop --> choose Bin_5000_100 for coolsat 5000, (Bin_4000_100 for coolsat 4000) --> Open.
9) Click Download, you will see connect your receiver and turn it on...
10) Plug your receiver in and power it ON.
11) This will let the program download the software automatically, once done, click Finish. This will stop your receiver from rebooting or displaying those weird Zeros. If it doesn't, repeat step 1-11.
12) Take your receiver out and put it in your TV. Do a Factory Reset, then go back and program your receiver with the Current Bin and Channels.

Instruction to Fix Rebooting Problem for Coolsat 7000

1) Click DOWNLOAD on the bottom of the page.
2) Click Bin_7000_111.
3) Choose Save --> Desktop --> Save --> Close(When done).
4) Click Coolsat7000_loader to download software use for programing.
5) Same as step 3.
6) Connect receiver to computer using the programming cable(RS 232 straight-through).
7) Double click on Coolsat7000_loader, follow the prompt until the software opens.
8) Click File --> Desktop --> choose Bin_7000_111.
9) Click Download, you will see Waiting For Request.Reset SetTop Box...
10) Plug your receiver in and power it ON. If you have the Coolsat 7000 ON, turn it OFF(From the back) and ON again.
11) This will let the program download the software automatically. If it doesn't, repeat step 1-11.
12) Take your receiver out when done, put it in your TV and do a Factory Reset, then go back and program your receiver with the Current Bin and Channels.

How To Do A Factory Reset

For 7000:

Press Menu on your remote, Press OK on Installation.
Go down to System Recovery and press OK then Enter your password(default password is 0000).
Press OK on System Restore to factory default then choose Yes.
You will be back at the Main Menu, proceed with installing the current program.

For 5000/4000:

Press Menu on your remote.
press Down to System Settings and Ok, go down to Data Base Reset and press OK.
Enter your password(default password is 0000).
Choose Reset to Factory Setting, then press OK, then Yes
You will be back at the Main Menu, proceed with installing the current program.

How To Turn AutoRoll ON/OFF

For 7000:

Press Menu on your remote, go to Option (keep pressing Left or Right if you don't see it), then press OK.
Go down to Echostar Autoroll, press Left/Right to turn the option to Off.
Once done, Exit and choose Yes to save.
keep pressing Exit all the way to any channel.

For 4000/5000:

Press Menu on your remote and Ok, Enter your password(default password is 0000).
Go down to Autoroll Options then Ok.
Press Left/Right to turn Echostar Autoroll to Off, Exit and choose Yes to save.
keep pressing Exit all the way to any channel.

Temporary Keys

IMPORTANCE: Make sure to noctice the different between the number 8 and the letter B, one wrong letter and/or number would prevent it from working.

Turn Off Auto Roll Before Entering The Keys:

For 7000:

Press Menu on your remote, go to Option (keep pressing Left or Right if you don't see it), then press OK.
Go down to Echostar Autoroll, press Left/Right to turn the option to Off.
Once done, Exit and choose Yes to save.
keep pressing Exit all the way to any channel.

For 4000/5000:

Press Menu on your remote and Ok, Enter your password(default password is 0000).
Go down to Autoroll Options then Ok.
Press Left/Right to turn Echostar Autoroll to Off, Exit and choose Yes to save.
keep pressing Exit all the way to any channel.

How To Enter Keys For Coolsat 4000/5000/7000:

Press 8282 on your remote, while on any channel( then OK for 7000)
change 4 lines of keys to the above keys, if you need to enter letters, press OK on your remote.
Once done, Exit(for 7000 choose Enter then Exit when done) and choose Yes to save.
Change to a different channel and it will be working right away, if it doesn't, go back and make sure all the keys match.
